Scommesse

It's with a certain feeling of disappointment that this morning I got up and went to work. I sort of expected that the world would end at about 8, swallowed by a quantum singularity generated by the CERN's supercollider that was activated this morning: it had to be true, a bloke on teh Intarnets told me. Oh well. That's not really what I wanted to talk about, but something that is in a way related. Since I read this article I have a question buzzing around my head: what kind of brain does it take to bet on an event that, simply by happening, will make it impossible to collect your winnings? And the tragic thing is, i heard at least one person argue "Well, yes, but it was very good odds, it paid a million to one"

@falecius: poteva andare molto peggio.
